their contract with Netsmart using python and Scikit-learn

Student Technology Mentor

Shree Kutidanda Higher Secondary School is a higher secondary school located at the rural area of Makaibari, Dolakha. It is one of the few higher secondary schools based near the town of Charikot, Dolakha with a low and affordable fee structure, and good education. This memorable teaching and assisting experience is an outcome of the one-week long Community Education Project [CEP] organized by Kathmandu University Department of Computer Science and Engineering every year with the help of foreign aid coming to the university. For the project, the students of second year [sophomore] classes of Computer Science and Engineering major in that specific year are divided into smaller teams who carry out small education projects in different communities and schools. In this education project of 2013, our team consisted of 9 highly enthusiastic computer science undergraduate students [Group III] of Kathmandu University with a/n supervisor/advisor from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Kathmandu University.   

There, we volunteered to assist the computer teacher to teach, the students of grades 8 to 10, the basic concepts of Computer Science. Also, we taught them not only the required syllabus of their courses, but the technological developments taking place in the real time world. The students were excited to receive the knowledge about tinkering with computer hardware setups and open source systems and software. These sort of things are rare over there as students as well as schools are deprived of proper internet connections and electricity to be well-updated to modern development in technology. Frequently, the students had to walk for 2 hours just to reach or return from school because of irregular timings of bus and other transportations. Luckily, Kathmandu University also donated four computers to the school while we were there, which the students and teacher were happy to receive. Our team also set the computers up in the school computer lab.
