Activities include the exchange of ideas through lectures, discussions, journals, special-interest groups, and local, regional, national and international gatherings; the investigations of members' opinions and attitudes; and assistance to researchers, inside and outside Mensa, in projects dealing with intelligence or Mensa.

AppDetex is the global brand protection leader in combating brand infringement, fraud, and piracy within the increasingly complex worlds of mobile apps, marketplaces, and domains. 

The first project I worked one was related to the crawling, analysis and storing service. The necessity was to increase the amount of applications being processed per day using the existing hardware infrastructure, and at the same time being able to scale horizontally in an economic manner. 
Initially I ran some diagnosis for the existing code in order to decide if we could just tweak the DAO layer to improve the performance, or if a major redesign was needed. At the same time, I built a prototype of the solution using a simplified version of the business model, and compare the results of the current and the prototype. Finally, we decided to move forward with the redesign, using the prototype as a base. The gained performance was around 10X.

The next project I worked on was related to Domains Management. AppDetex developed a Registrar Application, from which you can Register and Transfer domains, make Who Is calls, etc. 
In this position, I developed new features from both the backend and the UI,  chased tricky bugs and also helped with code reviews and testing.

The current project I'm working on is a redesign of an existing dashboard that exposes all the crawled information from the different stores, the infringements, case communications, etc.

Bodybuilding has been a great experience, the people were awesome, and their software excels in design and implementation. 

I was first assigned to a project in which I had to implement features across different modules of the application, such as Liking, Comments, Friends, Profile and other services. 
Also, I had the chance to work in a new module from scratch, helping on core definitions such as notifications, mentions and friendship.

Moving forward to a different project, I worked on implementing lambda processes to sync data between the CMS and a new datasource, exposing the synced data throughout  a new API built from scratch. 
Part of my responsibilities were to design and implement new entities and services, while helping to build out a flexible and extensible API.

Rio SEO provides an automated software to help customers with their listings information.
I had the following responsibilities.
Designed the model to allocate the locations data for 150+ clients (around 100K locations)
Designed and implemented the Hadoop jobs to crawl and fetch the listing information for more than 20 online directories such as
Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yelp, Yellowpages, etc.
Defined the Elasticsearch entities to store the data, as well as defining and implemented the services to generate reports (Citations,
Rankings, Data Accuracy)
Designed and implemented a strategies module to customize the data acquisition for each client by online directory.
Developed some UI screens and reports.

Rio SEO Automation Software

Rio SEO provides an automated local SEO software for powering location finders, landing pages, mobile landing pages, local listing management, and roll-up reporting for multi location brands.

The summary of my experience in this project is:

Designed and Implemented the model to allocate the visits/sharing information from 500+ campaigns (around 100M visits each campaign).
Designed and Implemented the Hadoop Jobs to process the campaigns logs.
Created the Webapp from scratch, with a WS layer, Services Layer, DAO layer and model Layer.
The DAO layer was designed to use the Titan Graph database (connected with Cassandra) and Elasticsearch as a backend index.
Implemented several reports using ElasticSearch. Some of them were also using D3 Maps.

PriceRealized is the sports card and memorabilia industry's 1st and only comprehensive price database and research service.

I was responsible for the backend services implementation, and these were some of the tasks I worked on.

Created a process to tag 1+ million items based on customizable rules.
Defined faceted searches using Apache Solr depending on business rules.
Defined and implemented a payment workflow using Stripe.
Items ingestion using external xmls, csvs, xlsx.
Defined full continuous integration process, using Jenkins and Git in AWS EC2.

Covario is the leading global search marketing agency, and it has been very interesting the work with them because they're always researching what's new on the market or what's the best technology to achieve the goals or what's the best approach for a process design ... and that is why It's a continuous challenge for me to reach their expectations, but I think I did well.

Regarding my role in the project, I was responsible for the implementation of the backend services. Those services receive the parameters from the UI (domains, seeds, keywords, etc) , perform some tasks (like crawling, page audits, etc) and then publish the results to the UI through NodeJS.

The core of my work is the process design, which provide several extension points for any new implementation.

Sirius XM Radio Inc. is an American broadcasting company that provides two satellite radio services (SDARS) operating in the United States, Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio.

This project was a great challenge for me since there were strict non functional requirements, new technologies involved, etc.
Our team designed and implemented most of the back-end services, designed the load testing for 200.000+ concurrent users, analyzed the memory usage, etc.

Nimbuzz is a VoIP / IM application, so one of the top requirements was always the high performance / availability.
I started in the services team, doing load test to some of the services. Also, I was the responsible for the Nimbuzz WAP implementation (Wicket) 
A couple months later, due some resignations/rearrangements, I was assigned to the gateways team, where I became the responsible for the Facebook Integration through XMPP

I was the responsible for the Public Auction module which basically consisted in many complex workflows to move the goods across the different states.

Proyecto SAT Tributario - Aduanero (Panamá - Guatemala)

Created module to integrate 2 Backend systems according to specific production rules. Several XML files were parsed and merged in order to define the current production plan.

Analyzed, designed and implemented a public refund information system. I played a key role since I had the responsibilities to define the requirements, design the architecture and coordinate the team (devs and testers)

Researched and Designed the institutional framework. The core features were an Eclipse IDE plugin, which connects to a database, reads the schema and generates the source code according to the implemented Velocity templates.
