    Professor Osman Ratib is a distinguished individual who holds dual board certifications in cardiology and Nuclear Medicine, along with a doctoral degree in Biomedical Physics in digital imaging. With an illustrious career spanning several prestigious institutions, he has made significant contributions to the field of medical imaging. Professor Ratib has held notable positions such as Vice Chairman of the Department of Radiology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and Chair of the Department of Medical Imaging and Information Sciences in Geneva. Known for his pioneering work, he has spearheaded innovative projects like the advanced cardiovascular PET-CT program and the first whole-body PET-MRI unit in Europe. Additionally, he is the visionary behind the OsiriX foundation, a non-profit organization advocating for Open-Source software in medicine. As the Founder and director of the Translational Molecular Imaging Institute in Geneva, he leads groundbreaking research funded by the prestigious Rolex/Wilsdorf foundation, in collaboration with the University of Geneva and EPFL in Lausanne.
