Olivia Hoy is a driven and accomplished biomedical engineer and technician, currently working as a Senior Dental Biomedical Engineering Technician at Augusta University's Dental College of Georgia. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she excelled in biochemistry, mathematics, and organic chemistry. With special interests in the fields of biomaterials and organic chemistry, Olivia has gained valuable experience working in a variety of roles, including part-time jobs and undergraduate research assistantships, where she earned course credit in Dr. Phil Santangelo's lab.
Olivia has also worked as a Mathematics and Science Teacher at Huntington Learning Center, Junior Engineer at Alternate Energy Systems, Inc., Instructor at Mathnasium - The Math Learning Center, Grader at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Shift Manager at Yogli Mogli Frozen Yogurt.
In addition to her formidable technical background, Olivia takes pride in being a dedicated member of the community, having served as a former Team Member at Georgia Tech Athletic Hospitality, Undergraduate Research Assistant at Peking University and Santangelo Lab at Georgia Institute of Technology, and Team Member at Urban Jungle Laser Tag and Ticket Manager at the Georgia Renaissance Festival. Furthermore, alongside her full-time work as a technician, she is currently pursuing Post-Baccalaureate Studies in Biology and Chemistry at Augusta University, with plans to apply for dental school in the near future.
