The Programme: £100m+ Data Centre Build and Application Migration
My Role: Independent Programme Assurance reporting to Programme Director

Responsibilities:
- Identified opportunities to de-risk and improve delivery by interviewing project managers, attending project meetings and reviewing documentation. Produced weekly report for programme director and tracked mitigating actions.
- Built cost model to track OPEX costs for the new data centres and infrastructure with 125+ line items

Independent Assurance on Data Centre & Application Migration Programme

•	The portfolio objective was to deliver a new front-to-back data integration architecture for the bank. The portfolio was structured with four programs containing fifteen projects. In total there were over 100 staff and the annual budget was over €30m.
•	Mobilized the portfolio office, putting in place processes and templates. Worked with the project and programme managers so the processes and templates were fit for purpose, resulting in standardized reporting and a consistent flow of information up and down the portfolio.
•	Managed a team of three to deliver the portfolio office services and processes, consisting of one contractor, one client employee and one Baringa colleague.
•	Took ownership of, and improved, the fortnightly Programme Steering Committee meeting. Worked with project managers to understand plans and dependencies, refreshed meeting materials, coordinated the change control process and chaired the meeting, receiving positive feedback from the Programme Director. 
•	Consolidated multiple overlapping sources of information into a clear, holistic dashboard for the Managing Director, enabling greater transparency and better decision-making.
•	Managed daily conference calls with software developers to coordinate new software installation and configuration, working to remove obstacles for the development team. 
•	Created presentations for the Bank's Management Board & Portfolio Steering Committee, summarizing progress and key risks and issues into board level terminology.
•	Led contract negotiation meetings on behalf of client with third party software vendor, ensuring that the client came out with favourable contract terms.
•	Owned portfolio-level deliverables to ensure compliance with the client's project management framework and advised programme managers on requirements for programme-level deliverables.

Portfolio Office at Global Investment Bank

Senior Consultant

•	The project objective was to reduce the operating cost of the London IT department by transferring headcount to nearshore and offshore locations and exiting high-cost legacy UK data centers. Banking applications were migrated from servers in the UK to new facilities in Germany and 200 jobs were moved from London to Germany, Prague and Singapore. The project delivered €20m savings per year, in line with the business case.
•	Worked with senior clients to create the project business case & monitor benefits realization. 
•	Built Excel reporting dashboard to provide management information to the CIO.
•	Managed planning workshop with 15 client attendees to define high level plan and dependencies for a data center build and fit out. Worked with infrastructure SMEs (networks, storage, Windows and Unix teams) to define detailed fit out plans and track delivery against the plans.
•	Project managed the migration of servers and applications out of legacy data centers to new sites. Including physical server moves within the UK and international application migration achieved by installing the application on new servers in Germany and then switching the services to the new servers.
•	Managed weekly project meetings for the full period of the project, escalating risks and issues where necessary and working with the project managers to find solutions where possible.

Project Manager at European Investment Bank

The project
- A four-year programme to transform the HR function at John Lewis and Waitrose. Delivered an integrated suite of new systems and business processes to 90,000 employees. 
Responsiblities
- I was responsible for a number of critical deliverables and processes in a complex environment with four different consulting firms and three external software suppliers working to set up and integrate five separate systems to a core Oracle eBusiness Suite HR system.
- Managed defect triage process in Early Life Support phase. Responsible for daily triage meetings with clients, solution architects, developers and external suppliers. Owned, managed, prioritised and reported status for three separate releases. 
- Managed Change Control Process end-to-end. Worked closely with workstream leads, solution architects, BAs, developers and end users to clarify requirements, resolve design issues, and communicate change to project baseline. Managed over 300 change requests with value over £3.2m over 18 months. 
- Managed temporary technical support helpdesk to handle the increase in support calls after system release. Line managed 10 temporary staff and oversaw their recruitment, training and day-to-day activities. Managed timesheets and budget. Delivered a smooth handover to the main support desk after six weeks.
- Prepared fortnightly defect briefing presentations for Director-level stakeholders. Attended fortnightly meetings with HR Directors, Finance Directors and Managing Directors. Developed trusting relationships with a number of senior clients, including Director level. 
- Numerous other responsibilities including: drafted UAT test strategy, produced lessons learned reports, SharePoint administrator, planned and managed full-day event for 100 people with £15k budget, drafted programme closedown report.

Business Analyst - John Lewis Partnership - HR Transformation Programme

The project:
- Implementation of a new Oracle eBusiness system covering HR, Finance and Payroll.

My roles: 
- responsible for reviewing functional design documents for Change Requests in the change control process and working with the solution architects, developers and client to ensure changes met business requirements and were delivered on time and in budget. 
- managed weekly meeting between clients, solution architects, 3rd party suppliers and developers to review Change Requests in the change control process. 
- managed the log of 1700 business requirements and managed a team of 6 to review all design documents and define detailed system requirements. 
- created and maintained tracking and reporting spreadsheets for the change control process and provided daily and weekly reports to the Project Manager. 
- coordinated development of a "software licence inventory" by working with 3rd party project managers and client lead technical architect. Enabled monitoring of overall licence usage and allowed us to identify where licences were in use, and on which servers/environments.

Business Analyst - Ministry of Justice

Reporting to the Commercial Director in the UK Border Agency, I was responsible for developing new MI streams for the UKBA Board. I worked with the Senior Commercial Managers across the Agency to define new reporting templates and analytical spreadsheets. This MI proved to be essential in the build up to, and after the 2010 General Election, as there was a high level of scrutiny on UKBA activity. I often had to produce high quality work within extremely tight timescales which was eventually reviewed at the Ministerial level. 

In addition, I was involved in a number of other projects, including the setting up a new supplier relationship management initiative. This involved the analysis of UKBA's suppliers, annual spend and type of relationship. I put in place new governance processes for the three largest suppliers which led to stronger strategic relationships.
