Olafur Gudmundsson, currently serves as Director of Engineering at Cloudflare, Inc, leading teams to tackle complex problems and strive towards innovative edge platform solutions. With a rich career background spanning over years, he also runs his own consulting company OGUD Consulting LLC, and has worked in various senior positions such as Network Scientist at Shinkuro, Inc., CTO at Binnacle Systems Inc., Senior Technical Liaison at NeuStar, and Senior Network Scientist at Network Associates, among other prestigious positions. Olafur has a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a BS in Computer Science from Háskóli Íslands. His professional interests include DNS, DNSSEC, programming, and networking solutions, and has authored several RFCs including 2538, 2845, 3226, 3363, 3655, 3658, 7218, and 7344. He is best known for advancing DNS and DNSSEC practices globally and has been advocating their implementation across various platforms and systems. Olafur is a trusted community representative for the DNS root key, and also served as the Chair of IETF DNSEXT/DNSIND working groups for 14 years and is now the chair of the IETF DANE WG.
