Oktay Arslan is an accomplished roboticist and engineer with a wealth of experience across the automotive, robotics, and aerospace industries. With a Ph.D. in Robotics from Georgia Institute of Technology, he has established himself as an expert in autonomy, planning, learning, and control for autonomous systems such as self-driving cars and unmanned aerial vehicles. He is passionate about advancing the fields of perception, planning, and control in autonomous systems and has a keen interest in machine learning solutions for motion planning.
Arslan's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and a Master's degree in Defense Technologies from Istanbul Technical University, as well as a Master's degree in Computer Science and Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia Tech and as a Research Assistant at Istanbul Technical University.
Arslan's professional experience includes roles such as Staff AI/Robotics Software Engineer at A³ by Airbus, Senior Robotics Research Engineer at Voyage, Robotics Technologist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Staff Autopilot Software Engineer at Tesla. Additionally, he has held positions as a Research Intern at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories and as a Visiting Researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Throughout his career, Arslan has been involved in cutting-edge projects that have contributed to advancements in the fields of robotics, autonomy, and AI.
