Okke Schrijvers
Okke Schrijvers is a highly accomplished research scientist, currently working at Facebook in the Core Data Science group. With a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University, he has authored numerous research papers published at prestigious venues such as NeurIPS, EC, KDD, and ICML, among others.
Okke's exceptional academic achievements continued throughout his student life, serving as the student member on the Ph.D. admissions committee at Stanford University for two years. He has also been awarded the departmental "extraordinary service" award three times and has been the president, vice president, and board member of the Dutch at Stanford student association.
His professional experience includes working as an Engineering Intern, Research Intern, and presently a Research Scientist at Facebook. He has also served as a co-editor in chief of the XRDS student magazine and has worked as a Research Assistant at Stanford University, a Research Intern at Amazon and Google, and Programming Intern at Playlogic Game Factory.
Okke's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in ICT from Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, an MSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, and a Mathematics course from The Open University.
When he's not working, he enjoys cooking, hiking, and traveling with his wife Brooke.
