Nivedita Biyani

Nivedita R. Biyani is an Environmental Engineer with a strong academic background, holding a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil, Environmental & Sustainable Engineering, a Master of Science (MSc) in Sustainability, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Environmental Engineering. With 5 years of experience in the Waste Management Industry, Nivedita is dedicated to conducting interdisciplinary research focused on sustainable procurement, supply chains, sustainable cities, and solid waste management (SWM) issues in both city and business waste minimization contexts.

Having lived and worked in various countries including Austria, India, USA, UK, and Singapore, Nivedita offers a rich multicultural exposure. She is proficient in English and German, enabling effective communication and collaboration in diverse environments. Nivedita's passion for sustainable waste management is evident through her involvement with organizations such as One Water One Health and her roles as a Graduate Research Assistant, Director At Large, Research Assistant, Sustainability Consultant, Engineer & Project Assistant, and Teaching Assistantship in various prestigious institutions and initiatives.

Nivedita's professional journey includes diverse experiences, from grassroots NGO work as a Slum Sanitation & Development Leader at DHAN Foundation to international internships at organizations like UNIDO and Wiener Wasser Werke. This broad spectrum of experiences has honed Nivedita's expertise in waste management and sustainability, making her a valuable asset in the field.
