Nina Sadowsky is an acclaimed author, filmmaker, and educator who currently serves as the founding Director of NYU Los Angeles (NYULA), a study away program for advanced students interested in pursuing careers in the film, television, broadcast, music and tech industries.12345
As the Program Director of NYULA, Sadowsky has overseen the creation of multiple professional development initiatives designed to support the students' academic experience. She is particularly proud of NYULA's role in launching the now annual Hollywood Climate Summit, designed to increase sustainability across all facets of the entertainment industry.2
Prior to joining NYU, Sadowsky taught producing and writing on both the graduate and undergraduate levels at USC's School of Cinematic Arts for over a decade. Student films created under her guidance have enjoyed numerous accolades including winning the Student Emmy, the Student Oscar, and being featured in the Shorts Corner at Cannes.2
Sadowsky has an extensive background in the entertainment industry, having served as President of Production for Signpost Films, a film financier and foreign distributor, and as President of Meg Ryan's Prufrock Pictures. Her producing credits include hit films such as "The Wedding Planner" and "Desert Saints".23
As an author, Sadowsky has written numerous original screenplays and adaptations, and is the author of several novels, including the thriller series "The Burial Society", which is currently in development for television. Her other published works include "Just Fall", "The Empty Bed", "Convince Me", and "Privacy".236
In addition to her role as Program Director of NYU Los Angeles, Sadowsky serves on the Leadership Council of Creative Future, and is a founding member of the Woolfpack, an organization of women showrunners, writers and producers committed to community and mentorship.35
