Additionally, Nina's expertise extends to offering baseline assessments for individual athletes and teams, using the data for post-injury comparisons and the development of sport-specific norm values.
She offers consultations to national and international sports associations such as FIFA and SFV, as well as institutions like IFAB and NINDS, along with medical professionals, on all sports neurology matters related to concussions and their consequences.
Nina Feddermann-Demont has been instrumental as the lead author in developing and publishing guidelines through the Swiss Neurological Society (SNG) for the diagnosis and therapy of concussions in sports and recommendations for medical protocols in elite football head injuries.
Her research interests revolve around practical approaches to enhancing the differential diagnosis and therapy post-concussion for a safe return to sports, work/school, and reducing the risks of persistent symptoms and long-term effects.
Outside her professional pursuits, Nina completed her neurology studies at various reputable institutions and holds a strong background in sports having run a marathon with a personal best of 2:56h and worked as a certified C-tennis coach during her medical studies. Sports are integral to her family life with regular jogging alongside her husband and both children actively participating in football, handball, and tennis.
Nina Feddermann-Demont's affiliations include her current role as the head of SCC at the Swiss Concussion Center, with past positions as Oberassistentin at University Hospital Zürich, MD at Schulthess Klinik, MD at Universitätsklinik Münster, and a member of FIFA Medical Assessment and Research Centre (F-MARC).
