Nikolay Akatyev

Nikolay "Niko" Akatyev is the Local and Sponsorship Chair for the International Conference on Digital Forensics and Cyber Crime (ICDF2C) 2021.23 He is also known as Niko A.1
As of March 2022, Niko is the VP of Internal Security and IT at Horangi Cyber Security, a Bitdefender company, in Singapore.1 Before that, he served as the VP of Internal Security at Horangi Cyber Security from September 2018 to February 2022, where he built the Internal Security and IT teams and led the company to achieve SOC2 Type 2 certification in less than 1.5 years.1 Niko was also the VP of Engineering at Horangi Cyber Security from July 2016 to September 2018, where he built the engineering team and released the first version of the product.1 He was the first employee of the company.1

Niko was also an Independent Researcher from January 2013 to December 2019.1 Prior to Horangi, he held several positions at LG Electronics from March 2011 to June 2016, including Senior Security Researcher, Senior Research Engineer, Lead Research Engineer, and Research Engineer.1 Earlier in his career, he was a Software Developer at Symphony Teleca from July 2007 to October 2008 and a Sales Manager at Razional from June 2005 to August 2006.1
Niko earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Korea University (2009-2011) and a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University (2007-2009).1 He has also obtained several certifications from Coursera, (ISC)², Basis Technology, monday.com, Cloud Security Alliance, and Datadog.1
