Niklas Kokkola, PhD

Niklas Kokkola is a highly accomplished Senior Machine Learning Researcher with a robust background in various aspects of artificial intelligence. Possessing a BSc in Computer Science & AI and a PhD in Neuroscience and Machine Learning from the University of London, he is skilled in the implementation of machine learning algorithms in multiple areas, including behavioural psychology, medical imaging, genetic sequencing, and pharmacological domains. Kokkola has a proven track record of demystifying complicated machine learning concepts and creating collaborative environments that foster innovation.

Kokkola has worked in several leading positions, including Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Lifebit and Founder of his own start-up, Ins. AI Ltd. He has also worked in Data Science at Sensyne Health and Headstart, both AI-related start-ups. His extensive experience includes developing algorithms and computational models to account for animal learning behavior, implementing these models in simulators, and working on deep-learning based approaches for drug purposing and vaccine optimization in collaboration with Big Pharma.
