Niel Malan
Niel Malan is a chemist-turned-scientist with a wealth of experience in developing scientific instrumentation, software for data management, and field deployment of RF instrumentation. Malan has studied extensively in the field of chemistry, earning a BSc, BSc(Hons) and finally a PhD from the University of Pretoria, where he also completed an MSc. Additionally, Malan has environmental strategy training from Terra Firma Academy. Throughout his career, Malan has been associated with a number of organizations, including the University of Pretoria (as a student and a postgraduate research assistant), District 74 of Toastmasters International (as a club sponsor and area director), Antarctic Logistics and Expeditions LLC (as a communications officer), and North-West University Potchefstroom Campus (as an independent contractor and physicist). Malan has also previously served as a chaplain's clerk and a rifleman for the South African Department of Defence. When not working, Malan enjoys traveling the world.
