Nicolas Berggruen is a US-based billionaire investor and philanthropist born on August 10, 1961, in Paris, France.1 He holds dual German and American citizenship.1

Berggruen is the founder and chairman of the Berggruen Institute, an independent think tank established in 2010.25 He is also the founder and investment advisor of Berggruen Holdings, which he established in 1984 as an investment vehicle for the Nicolas Berggruen Charitable Trust.12
