Nick van Marken

Nick van Marken is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the professional services industry, particularly in the hospitality sector.

Having served as a senior partner at Deloitte LLP and the Global Head of Hospitality Advisory Services in London, Nick has catered to a diverse clientele, including Family Office/HNWI's, Private Equity firms, Sovereign Wealth Funds, institutions, real estate entities, and corporations.

His expertise ranges from commercial strategy development, due diligence, operational and profit enhancement, mergers and acquisitions, capital-raising/IPOs, assurance, tax consulting, to restructuring.

Nick's career journey includes early hotel operations roles in South Africa with Holiday Inn and Sun International, followed by tenures with Gleneagles and Meridien in Europe, and later positions at PKF, Arthur Andersen, and Deloitte across London and the Gulf.

A frequent public speaker and esteemed executive, Nick has a global footprint, having worked in over 80 countries and contributed significantly to industry-defining transactions.

Currently, Nick van Marken serves as an adviser to multiple hospitality investors and holds Board seats in several organizations.

He also notably contributed to the Board of STR from 2011 to 2017.

Nick's educational background includes studying Matriculation at the South African College School.
