Nick Plante is a seasoned developer and experienced entrepreneur with a strong passion for building and supporting innovative projects and founders.

He is the Founder and General Partner at dlab, a venture capital fund focused on discovery-stage web3 and crypto projects, aiming to create a more transparent and decentralized world.

With a background that includes technical co-founder positions at Wefunder and Mogoterra, as well as CTO and director-level roles at various startups, Nick has a wealth of experience in the startup ecosystem.

Having started his career in academia with a focus on artificial intelligence applied to network security at institutions like MIT and Northeastern, Nick later transitioned into roles where he led a boutique software consultancy catering to a diverse range of clients.

Nick is also actively involved in open-source projects and has contributed significantly to initiatives like BankLocal, Docmeta, and the Rumble hackathon series.

His interests span across human-computer interaction, machine learning, blockchain technology, and fintech democratization, with early involvement in Bitcoin dating back to 2011.
