Nick Lovgren

Nick Lovgren is a dedicated professional with a deep interest in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

In his current capacity as an Energy Systems Engineer at McCalmont Engineering, he specializes in the design of large- and medium-scale solar PV systems, battery energy storage systems, and microgrids. Nick also has extensive experience in designing power & lighting systems for various types of buildings, with a focus on laboratories, cleanrooms, central utility plants, and offices.

Nick Lovgren's expertise extends across a range of industries, having served clients in life sciences, biotech, government (DOD), education, and utilities. His proficiency in technology platforms like Revit, AutoCAD, Visual, and SKM, combined with his in-depth knowledge of codes like the National Electrical Code, California Title 24 Building Codes, and LEED, sets him apart in the field.

With registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in California, as well as previous registration as a P.Eng. in British Columbia & Alberta, Nick Lovgren brings a wealth of technical knowledge and expertise to his work.

Nick Lovgren completed his Master's and Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Throughout his career, he has held key positions at reputable organizations such as McCalmont Engineering, Dersch Design & Engineering, Inc., CRB, and various engineering internships at San Francisco International Airport, the Green Campus Program, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
