Nick Lawrence

Nick Lawrence, a Ph.D. computer scientist and serial entrepreneur, has made significant contributions to artificial intelligence, data mining, statistics, knowledge discovery, and business intelligence. A specialist in the SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research program), he has been a Principal Investigator for nearly twenty DoD research projects. He has a broad knowledge of open source software and is an expert in intellectual property matters. With a long history of innovation and patents, Lawrence is currently focused on high tech startups and bootstrapping, as well as conducting cutting-edge analyses and forecasts of financial and market patterns. He served as the Immediate Past Chair of the MIT Enterprise Forum, Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter, and is the VP for Professional Development of DFW MIT Alumni Club. His affiliations include Bank of America, MutualMind Inc., Lawrence Technologies LLC, and Texas Instruments. Lawrence holds a Ph.D. in Distributed Computing from The University of Texas at Austin and a BSEE in Artificial Intelligence, Math, Physics, and Computers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
