Nicholas Stabile is a seasoned strategist, project manager, and attorney with extensive experience in New York State and City government, political campaigns, private legal practice, academia, and boards of directors.
His expertise spans strategic planning, law, communications, government and community relations, legislative development and advocacy, organizing, board and financial management, and project management.
Currently serving as Assistant Vice President at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, Nicholas spearheads initiatives to enhance the strength and inclusivity of New York City's neighborhoods and economy.
With a background as Chief of Staff to a New York State Senator, Nicholas has been instrumental in advancing key legislation, including bills aimed at safeguarding renters and homeowners during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Counsel to the New York City 2019 Charter Revision Commission, he played a pivotal role in designing and drafting the City's ranked-choice voting law.
Nicholas's varied career also includes positions such as Assistant Attorney General in the New York State Attorney General's Office, where his work involved advising on immigration policy and tackling civil rights issues.
Furthermore, his experience extends to the political realm, having served as Deputy Voter Protection Director in New Hampshire on the Biden presidential campaign, overseeing teams dedicated to safeguarding voting rights.
His expertise in election law, voting rights, redistricting, and ranked-choice voting is exemplary, with engagements in designing legislation, leading voter protection initiatives, teaching, advising officials, and publishing scholarly articles.
Nicholas initiated his legal career in private practice, handling cases related to securities, bankruptcy, and advocating for victims of domestic violence, including high-profile immigration cases for children.
An alumnus of Northwestern Law, Nicholas actively contributed to the Law Review and served as a Research Assistant to Constitutional Law Professor Steven G. Calabresi.
