Wrote and submitted the provisional patent application.
Led efforts to secure a licensing agreement a leading baby gate and safety products manufacturer.
Actively manages the business finances.
Wrote the operating agreement and formed the LLC.

Instructed students in the course ENGS 452 - Engineering Design, the project-based senior capstone course taken by all Hope engineering students prior to graduation.
Topics ranged from manufacturing processes and finance to product development process methods (market research, observation, design, prototyping, product testing, and commercialization).
Met weekly with all project teams to provide coaching and guidance on their project progress and direction.

Led the Discovery group at Disher with specific experience in product strategy, design, and manufacturing.
Worked at the front end of the product development process.
Used practical creativity to design purposeful products that will be profitable in the market.

The team executing this work is multi-functional having expertise in product strategy, marketing, consumer research, industrial design, branding, prototyping, engineering, and manufacturing.

DISHER

Discovery Team Lead

Managed all aspects of the Chalk City business including engineering, manufacturing, quality, consumer product safety, importing, logistics/distribution, sales/licensing, customer service, finance, and strategy.

General Manager

Led the Engineering and Project Management aspects of Disher's internal and external new product development efforts.
Responsibilities included business development, customer research, early concept development, rapid prototyping, show quality prototyping, product design engineering (SolidWorks), management of outside manufacturers, compliance testing, order fulfillment.

Product Development Engineer - Discovery Team

Responsible for developing various concepts and prototypes to be used for consumer testing when the idea of the Road Maker was first conceived.
Role shifted to lead designer and project engineer as the Chalk City Road Maker was brought to production with an Asian manufacturer.
Responsible for managing Multiple Production Orders, Toy Safety Testing and Certification, Developing Line Extensions, and Implementing Packaging Changes.

Validation Lab Technician: Tested and compiled reports for automotive anti-vibration components.
Prototype Lab Technician: Operated injection molding equipment as well as assembly presses for pre-production prototype components.
Design/Project Engineer: Final term, worked closely with a project team to launch a family of components.

Supervised students using the Grand Valley School of Engineering Machine Shop for project work.
Ensured the safety of students while operating mills, lathes, and other metal working equipment.
Led machine qualification classes for students to learn how to properly use the equipment
Performed basic machine maintenance on a daily basis.
