I was responsible for the acquisition of gloo from BBDO and in growing the business as part of my division at Kagiso Media. The role was a combination of hands on involvement in key pitches, strategy setting and growing the capability and capacity of the management team to create and cope with the significant growth. gloo grew from 14 people to around 85 over a period of 3 years and was recognised as the leading creative digital agency in SA.

Head up the Kagiso Media Convergence team, looking at digital media formats and future opportunities for the group.  the role included operational and strategic responsibilities (M&A, Business Development) over a number of businesses within the group and involvement in groupwide initiatives via the group exco. 

The assets in the digital area included:

 gloo (digital design). 
MSN and windows live for SA and SSA respectively (digital Media)
Digitalmark, a JV with Radmark, the digital sales division for the group
KM convergence, a media convergence/R&D unit within KM head Office group

Acceleration media had been acquired by Kagiso Media and Lagadere as a JV. as part of my division, my responsibility was to return the company to profitability and i was deeply involved at an exco level in both strategy setting and supporting the management team.

Systemsfusion was a leading OSS/BSS software company, providing leading self care automation solutions to Telcos. Offices were in USA, UK and SA, with clients around the world including Cable & wireless, MTN, UUNet, Telkom and many others. 

co-founded the business in 1998 and left in 2006, with almost 100 staff and strong client base and reputation.

Responsible for building web design and multi-media business for the company. worked on a lot of great brands (BMW, Microsoft, etc) and with a lot of awesome people. Was a loeries judge for the first ever digital advertising awards. The company took a (then) unique approach of a "no-line" agency and won emerging agency of the year too as well as winning a significant amount of creative awards.
