Nelson Chu

Nelson Chu is the Founder and CEO of Percent, a modern credit marketplace that he established in 2018 to address inefficiencies in the private credit markets. Percent is designed to empower borrowers, underwriters, and investors through enhanced governance, asset transparency, and market standardization, and it has become a significant player in the private credit industry by facilitating over $1 billion in transaction volume.123

Before founding Percent, Nelson Chu had a diverse career in finance and entrepreneurship. He founded a strategy consulting firm that helped companies build products and raise capital, generating over $1 billion in equity value. His background includes roles at major financial institutions such as Bank of America and BlackRock, where he gained substantial experience in the financial services industry.124

In addition to his work with Percent, Nelson Chu is an active angel investor, with investments in companies like BlockFi, Care/Of, and Clover Health. He is also involved in philanthropy, serving on the boards of several nonprofits.124 Nelson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Rutgers University.12
