Nell Cardozo
Curator and Director at 16 Nicholson Street Gallery CIC
Nell Cardozo is a highly accomplished curator and producer based in Glasgow. Currently serving as a curatorial director at 16 Nicholson Street Gallery, she is actively involved in the DIY curatorial collaborative-led space alongside Aga Paulina Młyńczak and Isabella Shields. With a strong focus on curating exhibitions, programming events, leading workshops, and contributing to publications, Cardozo has established herself as a key figure in the art community.
Prior to her current role, Nell Cardozo gained valuable experience at the Scottish National Galleries as a Gallery Assistant and curated the exhibition GROWTH at the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow, featuring youth artists. Her academic background includes a Master of Science in Museology/Museum Studies and a Master of Arts in English Literature, both obtained with honors from the University of Glasgow. Her thesis explored accessibility in online databases, supported by an internship at Art UK.
In addition to her professional roles, Cardozo has been committed to community engagement and education, teaching accessible art activities in Glasgow and Albany, NY. Her curatorial interests focus on queer bodies, entropy, and their role in alternative economies, showcasing a unique perspective in her work.
