Neeraj Bhat
Head of Hydrogen, AES Clean Energy
Neeraj Bhat is the Chief Product Officer for Clean Energy at The AES Corporation, a leading renewable energy developer in the United States. He has a strong background in the global infrastructure sector, specifically in managing, developing, and investing in power infrastructure assets. His expertise includes commercializing projects, leading mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and implementing competitive strategies across various regions including North America, Asia, and Latin America.1
In his current role, Bhat leads a cross-functional team focused on developing and commercializing electrolytic green hydrogen projects. Notably, he was instrumental in announcing one of the largest green hydrogen projects in the U.S., which involves approximately 1.4 GW of renewable energy aimed at producing over 200 metric tons of green hydrogen daily.1 Before joining AES Clean Energy, he worked in project development and M&A both in the U.S. and India, and also led AES’s business operations in the Philippines.
Bhat holds an undergraduate degree in public policy from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and supporting DC United soccer games with his wife and three children.1
