Neelesh Umachandran

Neelesh Umachandran is a dedicated professional currently serving as a Performance Engineer in Product Management at NEXTracker, where he oversees product validation and performance assessment of NX's advanced tracker controls system, TrueCapture™.

With a wealth of experience, Neelesh previously held roles at Black & Veatch, including Senior Technical Consultant in the Renewable Energy group. In this capacity, he interacted with various stakeholders such as project developers, owners, utilities, and lenders. Neelesh evaluated and contributed to over 2GW of renewable energy projects across all phases of development, from inception to operation.

Neelesh values teamwork, collaboration, and a vibrant work environment that encourages critical thinking. His educational background includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering specializing in PV Reliability and system performance from Arizona State University. Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Science at PSG College of Technology.

Throughout his career, Neelesh has contributed his expertise to notable organizations. In addition to his current role at NEXTracker and his tenure at Black & Veatch, he also served as a Solar PV Performance Consultant and held positions at USAID and the ASU Photovoltaic Reliability Laboratory.
