Nathan Wiedenman

Nathan Wiedenman is an accomplished leader with a strong background in managing large and diverse teams, particularly in the realms of R&D and technology programs. He is dedicated to the development of innovative technologies and fostering strategic partnerships to bridge the gap between conceptualization and implementation.
Having served over 21 years in the U.S. Army and retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2014, Nathan initially led combat soldiers in different armored units for eight years before transitioning to the Army's Research, Development, and Engineering Command (RDECOM) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). In these roles, he contributed significantly to developing essential equipment, processes, and tools for national defense purposes.
Nathan pursued his academic interests with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
Throughout his career, Nathan held various key positions in reputable organizations. He served as the Director of the Office of Entrepreneurship and the Office of Translation to Practice, as well as the Senior Technology IP Development Manager and Technology IP Development Manager at Mayo Clinic. He also worked as a Program Manager, leading the Sembler Rapid Microfluidics initiative at Draper. Previously, he held roles such as the Director of the Sembler Office for Entrepreneurship at Draper and a Program Manager at DARPA.
Nathan's military experience includes serving as the Science and Technology Assistance Team lead for CJTF-82, Deputy Chief Scientist at TARDEC, Assistant Professor at the U.S. Military Academy, Company Commander, Deputy Chief of G3 Operations for the 4th Infantry Division, and a Platoon Leader within the U.S. Army.
