Nathan Ellstrand
PhD Candidate in History and Teaching Assistant, Loyola University Chicago
Nathan Ellstrand is a dedicated PhD candidate in History at Loyola University Chicago with a keen interest in United States-Latin American transnational history, ideology, and borderlands.
Currently, Nathan is immersed in writing his dissertation focused on the political activities of the Unión Nacional Sinarquista during World War II in the United States.
His academic journey includes a Master's in Latin American Studies from the University of California, San Diego where he explored women's leadership in the Partido Liberal Mexicano during their exile in early twentieth century Los Angeles.
Nathan has also delved into research and presentations regarding the sanctuary movement in the 1980s.
Apart from academia, Nathan is deeply committed to education and social justice, with a love for food, travel, and biking in his leisure time.
