Nasir Ahmed

Nasir Ahmed is a Market Systems Development (MSD) practitioner with 15 years of experience in the development and private sector, specializing in agriculture sector development.

He has extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing large programs in various agriculture sectors and services, including maize, mungbean, sunflower, rice, mechanization, and fertilizer.

Nasir has a strong background in applying different tools of MSD approaches and DCED MRM standards and has been instrumental in analyzing, developing, and implementing interventions in over 12 agriculture sectors.

In his role with Business Enabling Environment team, he led interventions that improved 3 public policies/regulations in the agriculture sector in Bangladesh, contributing significantly to the sector's growth.

Nasir was pivotal in designing Katalyst's Capitalization Unit, a pioneering initiative in the MSD program landscape, which revolutionized the learning and operations of institutions related to agriculture in Bangladesh.

He played a key role in updating the Agriculture Extension Manual for the Department of Agriculture Extension in Bangladesh, showcasing his commitment to enhancing agricultural practices and knowledge sharing.

With a strong educational background including studies in sustainable enterprise development, program management, and making markets work for the poor, Nasir brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his work.
