Nancy Calaway is a highly experienced professional with over a dozen years of membership association management coupled with more than two decades of editorial experience in the print and online communication industry. She boasts a Bachelor of Arts in Communication/Journalism from Southern Methodist University. She has worked in reputable organizations such as the Dallas Morning News, Plano Star Courier, Carrollton Chronicle/Farmers Branch Times, and the Superconducting Super Collider, where she served as a public relations intern.
Currently, Nancy holds the position of Director of Member Communications and Marketing at the American College of Emergency Physicians. She supervises a 9-member team of competent writers, web content and design managers, graphic designers, and marketing managers. Nancy oversees the business and editorial aspects of ACEP Now, which is the largest revenue driver for the Communications Department and the second highest-rated publication in the emergency medicine specialty. She drives the ongoing content strategy and recently managed the redesign and migration of ACEP.org, which gets 7 million visits annually. Furthermore, she is responsible for overseeing the marketing of member acquisition and retention, publication sales, and educational meeting attendance.
Nancy's experience and expertise enable her to stay current with the issues facing the College's members, identify trends and avoid political landmines while representing the College in member communications.
