Nam Tran is the Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives at Fulbright University Vietnam.1 He is responsible for building Fulbright's development capacity in Vietnam and leading and executing the university's prioritized tasks.1 He collaborates with the leadership team on major gifts and special strategic projects.1
Before joining Fulbright University, Nam Tran worked at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for six years and was one of the first members of the Ho Chi Minh City office.1 He worked in strategy and operations across Southeast Asia and the Middle East in various industries, including consumer goods, industrial goods, telecom, energy, and the public sector.1
Nam Tran's LinkedIn profile indicates that he also holds positions at Copper Mountain Energy as an Executive Board Member and Managing Director of Strategy & Strategic Partners (since March 2023), at AIKYA Group as a Board Member & Head of Strategy Committee (since June 2023), and is a Member of the Board of Governors at AmCham Vietnam HCMC & Danang (since January 2023).2 Previously, he was also the Chief of Staff at Fulbright University Vietnam from January 2019 to April 2020 and Head of Growth at Koidra from August 2021 to September 2022.2
Nam Tran has a passion for social impact and has worked on projects related to education, youth and female employment, innovation, sustainability, tourism, and economic development for disadvantaged regions.1 He aims to provide Vietnamese young people with access to world-class education in Vietnam.1 Nam also served as the Co-Chair for the Education and Training Committee at AmCham to bridge the gap between higher education and industry.1
Nam Tran holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a High School Diploma in Chemistry from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.2 He also possesses certifications from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as an Analytic University graduate and NCEES as a Fundamental Engineer (FE).2 Additionally, he received the DAAD scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service and the Ministry of Education Scholars from Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training.2
