Naghma Mulla is the CEO of the EdelGive Foundation, a philanthropic initiative associated with the Edelweiss Group, one of India's leading financial services groups. With a strong background as a Chartered Accountant and a Master of Commerce degree from Pune University, she has been pivotal in transforming EdelGive from a traditional grant-making foundation into a more dynamic philanthropic asset management platform.
Professional Background
Naghma began her career at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, where she was part of the foundational team. She transitioned to the development sector after realizing her passion lay in social impact rather than finance. Joining EdelGive in 2012, she initially took on a managerial role and progressively rose through the ranks to become CEO in April 2021.145
Contributions and Initiatives
Under her leadership, EdelGive has committed over INR 3.31 billion to support more than 150 NGOs across India. Naghma has spearheaded several collaborative initiatives, including:
- The GROW Fund, aimed at strengthening grassroots organizations by enhancing their operational capacities.
- Collaborators for Transforming Education and the Coalition for Women’s Empowerment, both designed to tackle critical societal issues through partnerships with various stakeholders.234
Naghma is also involved with the India Climate Collaborative, focusing on addressing climate challenges, and serves as a mentor at the Nadathur S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning at IIM Bangalore, providing strategic support to startups.25
