Nadav Hochman

Nadav Hochman, PhD, serves as the Associate Director of Gray Area Foundation for the Arts, a prominent institution in San Francisco focused on the intersection of art, technology, and community.

With a background in cultural studies, art history, and critical theory, Nadav has a rich history of leading innovative projects that merge computational methods with humanistic approaches.

Prior to his current role, he co-founded The Tech + Arts Initiative at The Tech Museum of Innovation in Silicon Valley, where he fostered collaborations between artists, designers, tech companies, and research institutions.

Nadav's work has been globally exhibited and featured in prestigious institutions like MoMA and events such as SXSW, Ars Electronica, and the ArtScience Museum.

His academic journey includes earning a Ph.D. in History of Art & Architecture from the University of Pittsburgh, along with multiple master's degrees and a bachelor's degree, all attained with Summa Cum Laude honors.

Beyond his role at Gray Area, Nadav has been involved in various organizations such as ALPs, STARTS Prize at Ars Electronica, and EUNIC in Brussels, showcasing his diverse engagement in arts, technology, and culture.

Additionally, he has held positions at renowned institutions like The Museum of Modern Art and City University of New York, demonstrating a well-rounded expertise in cultural analytics, curation, and innovative art projects.
