Mzime Murisa

Mzime Murisa is a seasoned professional with a strong background in biodiversity, conservation, natural resources management, and sustainable development.

With expertise in policy analysis, Mzime has led numerous projects with local, regional, and international organizations such as Environmental Africa, Lake Harvest Fishing Company, and WorldFish.

Mzime's experience spans across field-based research on environmental issues and collaborations with institutions like the International Geo-Biosphere Program and the African Climate Change Fellowship Program.

Having contributed to the IPCC's 5th and 6th Assessment Reports, Mzime is well-versed in freshwater ecosystems and climate change impacts.

With a PhD in Climate Change Impacts from the University of the Western Cape and an MS in Tropical Resource Ecology from the University of Zimbabwe, Mzime has a strong academic foundation.

Previously holding roles like Program Specialist at START and Deputy Dean at Chinhoyi University of Technology, Mzime's professional journey also includes positions at Ecocash, University of Zimbabwe, and University of the Western Cape.
