Muthuvelan Kp is a seasoned professional with a rich background in social finance, social entrepreneurship, development studies, sustainability studies, and international law. He has a strong academic foundation, with an MBA from the University of Oxford, a Bachelor's Degree in International Law from Delhi University, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Kansas, and a BE in Computer Science from the College of Engineering, Guindy.
Muthuvelan Kp has extensive experience working as a Consultant at the World Bank Institute in Washington DC, where he focused on exploring the linkages between development finance and social enterprises. His responsibilities included social impact evaluation, business plan development for social organizations, and aligning guiding principles of social investors and philanthropic organizations with the needs of social organizations. He has traveled to various sites globally, including Africa and South East Asia, to gather firsthand knowledge of operational aspects of organizations.
Prior to his role at the World Bank, Muthuvelan Kp completed his MBA at Oxford University with a focus on Social Enterprise and International Development, emphasizing sustainability and scalability issues in social enterprises. Currently, he manages a nonprofit organization dedicated to Rural Empowerment in one of the most underprivileged districts in India. Additionally, he has been empaneled as a National Resource Person at the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) in recognition of his expertise in the field.
