Aykut has also made substantial contributions to various Working Groups or Task Forces within the ICT Authority, the National Planning Organization, and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications in Turkey.

Outside of telecommunications, Aykut is also involved in Future Studies and serves as the Vice Chairman at the Turkish Futurists Association. He is a Lecturer of the School of Futurism at Kadir Has University and a Steering Committee Member for the Highschools Project Awards at the same institution. Aykut is also an Advisory Committee Member at the Okan University Career Centre and a member of the ICT Sector and Regulations Working Team at the Istanbul Information Society Watch Group.
