The Alzheimer Lab is an ambitious program in which teams of top talent get the challenge to set up a social venture, whose benefits are fully used for Alzheimer's research at the VUmc Alzheimer Center. 

The primary purpose of the Alzheimer Lab is to obtain substantial and structural funding for critical scientific research into Alzheimer's disease. Because of the unique association of companies, their top talent and the research world, the impact of the Alzheimer Lab is much greater; the companies, their top talent and the VUmc Alzheimer Center all benefit.

In my capacity as advisory board member to the foundation, I hope to contribute to the continued success of (amongst others) Alzheimer Socks:

1 in every 5 persons will suffer from Alzheimer's of a different form of Dementia during his or her lifetime. By buying Alzheimer Socks and wearing them, Alzheimer research is supported and a meaningful conversation about the disease can be had. The different designs symbolise the daily confusion a dementia patient deals with on a daily basis. 100% of the profit of the ANBI-compliant foundation accrues to benefit the world-leading VUmc Alzheimercentrum, based in Amsterdam.
