Msw Deona Hooper is the Founder, Developer, and Editor-in-Chief of Social Work Helper, a mission-driven progressive website focusing on social issues, social justice, and human rights.

She holds a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Management and Community Practice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management.

Deona's expertise includes Policy Analysis, Program Evaluation, Advocacy, Systems Design, Website Design/Development, Analytics/Social Listening, Social Media/Marketing, Video Production, Marketing, and Communications.

She has a background in technologies, communications, marketing, and social media, having worked in various roles such as Editorial, Communications, and Marketing Director at Social Work Helper and in positions involving web mastering, design, and development.

Deona Hooper's professional experience also includes advocacy roles at the National Association of Social Workers-NC Chapter, coordination of the Parent Partner Program in Wake County, and investigative positions in Child Protective Services at both Chatham County Department of Social Services and Bladen County Department of Social Services.
