Led diverse teams (+$25M budget, 300+ people, $400M in revenue) to create innovative data & analytics real estate, MLS, financial services and capital markets products that drove significant revenue increases. Championed adoption of incident/problem management processes to secure stellar outcomes, positively impact client retention and employee quality of life, and drive savings. Oversaw solution development for major security vulnerabilities and data encryption challenges under very tight time constraints and heavy workload, addressing complex problems swiftly and effectively.

A division of Clear Channel Communications, LAN develops integrated back-office enterprise management solutions. Personally fulfill key technical, organizational, and strategic planning roles in the development of its core product; a commercial airtime inventory, revenue tracking, enterprise reporting and account receivables radio station management application, currently deployed to optimize over $4B in annual revenues in over 300 markets. 

Environment: SQL Server 2000, .Net, VB 6.0 and Delphi. Administered a combined annual capital and operating budget of $3-4M, representing over 70% of the entire IT budget.

Summary: Built a highly skilled and motivated Development Team consisting of 30 (developers, QA analysts, release engineers, 3rd-level support technicians, network administrators and MIS staff) while improving departmental productivity, product quality, and raising employee job & customer satisfaction ratings significantly.

Technical Leadership: Senior Agile software development methodology resource providing hands-on subject matter expertise in development, project management, quality assurance, release engineering and third-level support. Implementing the Agile process resulted in more than 50 percent productivity gains and near bug-free product releases, a minimum annual value worth in excess of $1M annually.

Business Leadership: Established key performance metrics for monitoring and managing third-level support response and closure times, software product quality, and staff allocation. A small pre-IPO company, during tenure Go2 became a wireless and online business directory leader with over 12M data-aggregated Yellow Page listings and revenue streams derived from B2B and B2C distribution products. By May 2002, Jupiter Media rated the site as the nation’s fifth most trafficked and the Yankee Group calculated its wireless Internet application had the broadest distribution. 

Environment: 3-tier large-scale system deploying IIS, XML and ColdFusion for the front end, Java/J2EE running on Web Logic for the business tier and SQL Server Database clusters for the back-end. 

Administered annual $2M operating and $8-12M infrastructure/capital equipment budgets.

Summary: Managed 25 developers; created and continually improved the award-winning Go2 Directory websites (www.go2.com) and B2B locator products resulting in increased traffic from 2M to 25M monthly hits during my 18-month tenure. Rapid growth achieved by spearheading lean product development techniques, which focused on flexibility, quality and close collaboration with customers; resulted in increased on-time, on-budget and low defect metrics.

Technical Leadership: Delivered 99.99% systems availability. Created the nation’s first automated wireless location-based yellow-page business-finder application, with integrated 3rd party data running on numerous wireless carriers and mobile devices. Project managed, from initial development through implementation stages, Coca-Cola’s Winter Olympics Torch Relay wireless and online registration websites, which empowered mobile phone and PDA subscribers with SMS alerts, and permitting delivery of pertinent data aggregated from numerous sources.

Business Leadership: Played a key role developing the partnering and SLA framework which ensured strong reciprocal relations with industry leaders including: AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless, Nextel, Sprint PCS and Verizon Wireless on the telecom side, and numerous blue chip major merchandisers on the business side.

A leader in the design and service of automated tape libraries used to manage, store and transfer data, and is also the leader in the workgroup network attached storage market (NAS) category with the largest installed base of any NAS supplier.

Member of the management team reporting to the Director of NAS Products in a 35-person engineering organization.     Responsible for managing an aggregate budget of $3 million including: a staff of 14 software engineers, a variety of projects/programs and software/hardware infrastructure.

Summary: By developing customized tape library management application, I was instrumental in securing, and keeping, Sun Microsystems as a key OEM strategic partner.  Product featured English and Japanese interfaces.

Technical Leadership: Managed 12-16 software developers, and delivered the first version and multiple sustaining releases of the NAS LANvault 200 backup appliance, inclusive of developing the accompanying e-Commerce website.

Accomplishments:
Managed, designed, coded, tested and delivered the first production release of a network printer management product on the Solaris platform localized for English, French, German and Japanese.

Member of the management team reporting to the Director of Software Engineering in a 20-person engineering organization. Responsible for managing an aggregate budget of $1.4 million including: a staff of 7 senior software engineers, a variety of projects/programs and software/hardware infrastructure.

Accomplishments:
- Managed a cross-functional senior software engineering team of 12 people spread across 3 labs in 3 different time-zones resulting in the development of a next-generation storage systems architecture
- Delivered architecture/product demonstrations to new and existing customers at customer locations and trade shows that resulted in increased product interest and sales leads for the sales organization.
- Designed and developed the graphical user interface for the storage industry’s first cross-platform tape library management utility that allowed a customer to manage his tape library from a remote location resulting in increased convenience and cost savings.
