Mpulu Makayi

Mr. Mpulu Makayi is a seasoned professional with over six years of practical management experience in private sector development across Southern Africa.

His journey in development spans various roles such as Challenge Fund Manager, Programme Coordinator, and currently Portfolio Manager for a joint United Nations market systems program in Zambia.

Before venturing into private sector development, Mr. Makayi held management and technical advisory positions with INGOs focusing on food security, humanitarian aid, and livelihood programs.

His expertise includes program design and management, market systems analysis, value chain analysis, private sector development strategies, business management, and monitoring and evaluation.

He is currently expanding his knowledge in venture capital investment within developing country contexts, particularly in the primary and secondary economic sectors, and is an active personal investor in Zambia.

Mr. Makayi holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, a BSc. Degree in Agriculture, and a General School Certificate in O levels.

He has worked with reputable organizations such as the International Labour Organization as National Programme Officer for Skills Development and FAO as National Programme Officer for Youth Employment.
