Dr. Morteza Khatib, Ph.D., is the Founding Principal of Green Coastal Engineering, a leading provider of structural engineering services for coastal structures.
With over a decade of hands-on experience in structural and concrete materials engineering, Dr. Khatib specializes in sustainable and durable coastal structures including seawalls, boat docks, piers, and marinas.
His expertise in concrete durability, alternative cementitious materials, sustainability, resiliency, and composites materials is widely recognized in the industry, with his research and publications being referenced by practitioners and researchers alike.
Dr. Khatib holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Azad University of Mashhad, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Concrete Materials from the University of Miami, and a Master's degree in Concrete Materials from Oklahoma State University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Khatib has garnered more than 11 awards, scholarships, and fellowships, highlighting his contributions and standing as a celebrated engineer in the field.
Prior to his role as the Principal at Green Coastal Engineering, Dr. Khatib held positions as an Assistant Scientist and Research Associate at the University of Miami, as well as a Research Assistant at Oklahoma State University.
