Monique Potts (PhD) is a thought leader in innovation, creative practice, and education with a focus on transforming education through creativity and collaboration.
Currently, Monique holds various roles including being a Lecturer and Tutor at UNSW Art and Design and UTS Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation, where she teaches about Leadership in the Creative and Cultural Industries, Complexity, Sustainable Futures, and New Knowledge Making Labs.
She is the Director of New Economy Network Australia and a Board Member of the organization. Additionally, Monique is a Founding Member of The Grove innovation collective/startup and the Sydney Commons Lab.
Monique is also a PhD Candidate at the University of Technology Sydney, researching resilience and experiential learning for young people in the face of an uncertain future.
Her recent presentations and projects include co-authoring the Sydney Commons Transition Plan, presenting at the RMIT Emerging Innovation Summit on 'Presilience,' and speaking at the a2ru conference in Boston on 'Place, Data and Mapping Lived Experience.' She has also served as a judge at the Japan Prize and contributed to UTS Hatchery's recognition as AFR Higher Education Best Learning Experience in 2017.
Monique excels in leading and managing high-performing teams in various capacities such as designers, program managers, project managers, marketing teams, educators, and researchers. She has a strong background in research, writing, and media production focusing on technology, media, culture, and creativity.
With expertise in innovation, strategy, management, education, and creative methodologies, Monique has a track record of setting up and managing complex multi-million dollar digital products and programs. She also develops strategies and policies related to innovation, entrepreneurship, and the creative and digital economies.
Monique Potts's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education from the University of Technology Sydney, a Master of Arts in New Media from UNSW, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Technology Sydney.
Throughout her career, Monique has held various positions at prestigious organizations including University of Technology Sydney, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and TAFE WSI OTEN.
