Monica Cainer

Monica Cainer is a seasoned global health and development professional with a strong background in program design, management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications and advocacy. With over ten years of experience, Monica excels in developing innovative solutions to complex challenges and has a passion for enhancing access to healthcare in low-resource settings, especially for women and girls.

Monica pursued her academic journey by completing a Master's degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at The Hebrew University, a Bachelor's degree with Honors in International Relations and Affairs at Western University, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Business, Sustainability & Social Finance at Tel Aviv University.

Throughout her career, Monica has held significant roles in various esteemed organizations. She has served as a Senior Manager in Global Health at ASSIST INTERNATIONAL, worked as a Principal at MRC Consulting Network, and contributed as a Senior Manager for Safe Surgery 2020 Innovations at ASSIST INTERNATIONAL. Monica has also made a mark as the Interim Coordinator for the Women Deliver 2019 Stakeholder Secretariat at the Canadian Partnership for Women and Children's Health (CanWaCH) and managed the Every Woman Every Child Innovation Marketplace at Grand Challenges Canada.

In her professional journey, Monica has been involved in impactful roles such as Manager of Development & Stakeholder Relations at the Federal Secretariat Canada 150 under the Government of Canada, Manager of Strategic Initiatives at Grand Challenges Canada, and Senior Policy Advisor & Stakeholder Relations at the Office of the Minister of the Environment within the Government of Canada. Moreover, Monica has experience as a Director at the Canadian Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Antisemitism and has been a Fellow at Legacy Heritage Fellowship.
