Specialize in helping nonprofits and foundations to maximize their impact by taking an integrated approach to program design, program implementation and evaluation/learning. Support organizations in the following specific areas: 1) Program Strategy (theories of change, logic models, defining target outcomes and programmatic priorities); 2) Design and Innovation (Human Centered Design processes; pilots; continuous improvement/program refinement); 3) Evaluation and Learning (case studies, multi-year learning agendas, sequencing evaluation and learning work, scoping external evaluation, KPIs/dashboards, improving data systems, building internal evaluation capacity, and creating constituent feedback loops); 4) Strategic partnerships (determining when to build vs. buy new capabilities; developing marketing plans for programs, partnership strategies and landscape analyses); 5) People management/talent development (designing staffing models and program performance management systems).

Partnered with nonprofit and philanthropy clients to improve the ability of practitioners to generate and use evidence to strengthen outcomes for individuals and communities. Partners to date include: The Wyman Center (Teen Outreach Program/Teen Connection Project), RevJen, Future Skills Centre, Juma Ventures, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Making Waves Foundation, Communities in Schools Mid-America (now called SparkWheel), LISC Jacksonville, Braven, Jumpstart, STEM From Dance, and America's Promise Alliance.

Project Evident

Senior Advisor, Evidence Strategy

•	Oversaw program design, program delivery/operations, and evaluation/learning for national mentoring program that provides sustained, holistic support and experiential learning opportunities to 3,000 young people annually from high school through post-secondary education and career pursuits. Depth Mentoring approach centers social emotional learning (SEL), identity development, critical consciousness and trauma sensitivity. 
•	Led strategy to distinguish Summer Search in field of positive youth development and develop partnerships to build the capacity of other youth-serving organizations in unique Depth Mentoring approach. 
•	Managed National Program Team (9 staff members) supporting ~95 direct service staff in 5 sites nationwide (Bay Area, Boston, NYC, Philadelphia and Seattle). Redesigned team structure within first 3 months to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.  
•	Member of Senior Management Team, overseeing all aspects of organizational decision-making and culture.

Summer Search

VP of Program

•	Established and led a new Program Design & Learning team at a non-profit that seeds and grows improvement collaborations among CA's public school systems, helping them build capacity to continuously improve learning and outcomes for all students. Fueled by two investments from Gates Foundation (>$20M), Ed Partners supports 48 districts reaching over 600,000 students.
•	Responsible for: refining and codifying program model, establishing knowledge sharing practices, coordinating research and evaluation, and leading internal improvement and learning processes for program improvement (including developing a customized Salesforce instance).
•	Co-managed program team of 9; directly managed Learning Manager and Senior Program Associate.

California Education Partners

Director of Program Design and Learning

Led short-term consulting projects with The Primary School, Wishbone, BUILD and Roses & Concrete Community School. Projects included: strategic planning (developing a Theory of Change, evaluation planning, replication/growth strategy, program model expansion, stakeholder and community feedback, landscape mapping) and program leadership (program design, delivery, evaluation, and innovation and staffing).

Independent Consultant

•	Led development, innovation, support and evaluation of national peer-led health education program that empowers 17,000 young people with the knowledge, skills and resources to make healthy decisions. 
•	Directed national vision and strategy for strategic partnerships that build a more integrated model for health education, advance PHE’s vision for health equity and open new revenue streams. 
•	Managed National Program and Partnerships Team (8-13 staff members) supporting ~25 program staff in 5 sites nationwide (Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, LA and NYC). Directly managed 3 Assistant Vice Presidents, two of whom were based in other locations.
•	Member of the Executive Team, overseeing all aspects of organizational decision-making and culture.

Peer Health Exchange

VP of Programs & Strategic Partnerships

•	Led complete overhaul of PHE program model, including: improved volunteer recruitment, selection and trauma-informed training practices; new standards for volunteer instructional quality; and a new evidence-informed, skills-based health curriculum consisting of 13 workshops focused on reducing teen pregnancy and substance abuse, and increasing mental health help-seeking behavior.  
•	Transformed PHE’s approach to innovation and ongoing program improvement through an intensive partnership with IDEO.org utilizing human-centered design. 
•	Built PHE’s evaluation function: hired and grew internal evaluation team; built capacity to run 20+ pilot studies and do formative evaluation (including developing a customized Salesforce instance for program data tracking); and managed a 3-year external quasi-experimental evaluation led by American Institutes for Research (AIR) to better understand PHE’s role and impact.

VP of Programs

•	Promoted to national role to bring high standard of program quality in Boston to all 5 PHE sites. Led program design and improvement, and established national program quality standards.
•	Worked with PHE National Management Team, Board of Directors and consultants from Monitor Institute to research and write 2011-2015 Strategic Plan, playing key leadership role in defining programmatic priorities.
•	From 2011-2013 grew National Program Team from 3 to 13 members, eventually managing 5 staff members on National Teaching and Learning Team responsible for developing 10+ pilots aimed at deepening the impact of the PHE model, including new curricula and initiatives to improve volunteer teaching quality.
•	Selected to launch new PHE site in Washington, D.C. based on success growing Boston program. Built relationship with DCPS and other local government entities, established 5 school partnerships, launched program at 2 college sites and hired founding D.C. team.

Managing Director of Teaching & Learning (previously titled National Director of Prog Development)

•	Grew PHE Boston site from 2 to 6 college chapters (100 to 380 volunteers), increasing student reach by over 400% from 650 young people in 2007 to over 3,300 by 2010. 
•	Grew annual budget by 57% over 3 years (up to $585,000 in 2010) through successful individual, foundation and corporate fundraising. Managed Boston Board and helped developed model for local boards nationally.
•	Managed all aspects of program delivery. Supervised 5 Program Associates over 3 years (1-2/year) while directly managing 2 growing volunteer chapters (Harvard and Northeastern) and 10 high school partners.

Boston Executive Director

•	Managed international education program with 100+ volunteer English teachers placed in universities and community programs throughout Ecuador. Supervised all field office operations and Assistant Field Director.
•	Completed 100-hour TEFL Certification course and overhauled volunteer training program.

WorldTeach

Ecuador National Field Director

•	Directed admissions process for international volunteer teaching programs in 8 developing countries.
•	Doubled number of applicants in 2 years through development of new website, improved advertising, targeted university recruiting, and increasing alumni engagement and involvement with volunteer recruitment.

Marketing, Admissions & Alumni Coordinator

•	Taught community English classes to over 100 university students and adults at the Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Expanded English Department resources by compiling new course books and classroom materials, writing exams, and assisting local teachers.
•	Lived with Ecuadorian host family, developed Spanish fluency, and volunteered in program for homeless children.
•	Selected by Field Director to co-lead orientation for 27 new WorldTeach volunteers in Sept. 2002.
