Mobin Nomvar

Mobin Nomvar, PhD, is the Founder and Managing Director of Scimita Ventures, a company specializing in the commercialization of research in fields such as energy, materials, and the circular economy. Established around 2016, Scimita Ventures has successfully completed over 40 projects aimed at bridging the gap between scientific research and commercial application. The company focuses on innovative solutions to pressing global challenges and has developed a proprietary framework known as Falcon to guide its projects from concept to market readiness.13

Dr. Nomvar's background includes a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sydney, where he also served as a postdoctoral researcher. His experience spans various roles in research and development, including work on hydrogen production technologies and non-invasive blood glucose monitoring systems through companies like ScimTek Hydrogen and Opuz, both of which are associated with Scimita Ventures.14

Before founding Scimita, Nomvar had a diverse career that included being a professional cyclist in Iran and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures. His vision for Scimita was inspired by his desire to create an organization that could effectively translate academic research into viable commercial products.12 Under his leadership, Scimita Ventures has garnered recognition for its innovative approach and has received multiple awards for business innovation.4
