Misan Rewane
Problem Solver
Misan Rewane is the Executive Director of Stanford Impact Labs, a position she has held since September 2022. In this role, she focuses on fostering partnerships between researchers and practitioners to effectively tackle social issues. With over 15 years of experience in advisory, entrepreneurial, and funding roles across Africa, Europe, and the United States, Misan is recognized as a dedicated social problem solver.13
Career Background
Misan began her career in management consulting at The Monitor Group and has since gained extensive experience in public policy advisory, international development, and social entrepreneurship. She is notably the co-founder of West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE), an organization aimed at improving economic opportunities for youth in Nigeria. Under her leadership, WAVE has trained over 4,000 young people and supported more than 50,000 others through partner organizations.14
After stepping down as CEO of WAVE in 2019, Misan shifted her focus to advising social enterprises and funders. She serves on several boards, including those of the African Visionary Fund, Kepler, and Moringa School.15
Education
Misan holds a degree in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School, which complement her extensive practical experience in the social impact sector.12
