As part of a small EAP duties included: providing short term counseling and consultation to Stanislaus County employees and their families, providing relevant workshops of a personal and professional nature, and providing critical incident debriefing as needed.

As the lead clinician on a psychiatric unit I sought to improve service provision to clients and their significant others by increasing unit cohesion and communication, and providing strength based feedback. Worked in a variety of modalities as appropriate to facilitate crisis treatment. As a member of a treatment team, made suggestions for referrals to appropriate treatment in a lower level of care in a timely manner. Suggested several ways to integrate technology into the current system for increased productivity of staff to allow more time with client and significant others.

Provided assessment and treatment to a large caseload of women and children that have been affected by domestic or sexual violence providing appropriate therapeutic interventions and referring to community resources. Duties included coordination of the daily functions of the counseling center, daily management of up to 3 employees, preparing monthly reports, crisis intervention, emergency response, and development of policies and procedures specific to the counseling program. Facilitation of domestic violence awareness programs for children and teens, a sexual abuse group for children, and the Battered Women’s Support Group as allowed by schedule. Responded to hospital emergency rooms to assist sexual assault victims and domestic violence victims.
