Professor Minoti Apte is a globally recognized researcher specializing in alcohol-induced pancreatic injury, pancreatic fibrogenesis, and stromal-tumor interactions in pancreatic cancer.
Her groundbreaking work includes developing a method to isolate and culture pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs), a pivotal technique enhancing the study of pancreatic fibrosis.
For the past 15 years, the Pancreatic Research Group led by Professor Apte has spearheaded research on the biology of PSCs, focusing on their crucial roles in chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.
