The UK government has committed to improving our city infrastructure, supporting smart services that enable government priorities on devolution and digital transformation to be met. Funding has also been provided for a variety of pilots and demonstration projects including the Manchester City Verve IoT demonstrator.

Global smart city revenue is expected to grow from $36.8 billion in 2016 to $88.7 billion by 2025 and techUK will engage across the value chain to drive conditions that make the UK a global powerhouse in the development of smart city solutions and the export of products and services.

techUK will work to:

• Ensure smart systems, technologies and solutions are an integral part of city strategies and accelerate the development of the market.

• Engage with social and economic value chain to understand the challenges currently faced by local government, promoting an awareness of how technology can help address challenge.

• Drive a ‘start smart’ approach working with stakeholders to ensure smart city solutions deliver solutions to appropriate challenges, benefiting the citizen.

At PAC I was the lead analyst for the Internet of Things practice in the UK where I was increasingly involved in coverage of wider Digital Transformation market as well as more specific AI market. My major vertical responsibility was providing advice in the domain of Manufacturing (electronics, energy, pharma, chemicals, automotive, construction, metal, oil & gas) and Transport (airline, rail, maritime, road transport & logistics) industries. Additionally, I was also responsible for banking and telecom industries, during limited time periods. 

I have exceptional understanding of major challenges that companies within these industries face but also understanding of the ways these challenges can be addressed with digital technology solutions. I advised some of the world’s largest technology players in the market on digital go-to-market strategy and competitive positioning, value proposition and business development. I also helped many global technology and manufacturing giants with growing digital ambitions to position themselves as thought leaders in areas such as digital transformation, IoT and AI.

During my time with PAC I have authored more than 100 various publications including: 40 blogs about latest developments in digital transformation markets, 15 vendor profiles, 3 large scale survey based trend studies, more than 20 various market figures, forecasts and vendor rankings, 1 vendor benchmarking tool, and more than 20 various market reports analysing trends in digital transformation markets in areas such as IoT, AI, cyber security, cloud computing and SAP services.
