    Director of Connecticut College Arboretum

    Miles Sax is an accomplished professional with a strong educational background in Environmental Conservation, Natural Resources & Conservation, and Horticultural Biology. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Cornell University and a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Horticulture also from Cornell University. Miles has held various significant positions in prestigious organizations, including serving as the Charles and Sarah P. Becker ’27 Arboretum Director at Connecticut College. He has also worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Horticulture at Cornell University and has been a PhD Candidate in the Department of Horticulture at the same institution. Additionally, Miles has been a Visiting Scholar at Stellenbosch University Botanic Garden, conducted research as a Soil Science Laboratory & Plant Records Research Assistant at The Morton Arboretum, and was a Graduate Fellow in Public Garden Leadership at Cornell University. He has also gained valuable experience as the Manager of the Norfolk Aggie High School internship program and as an Apprentice in Curation & Horticulture at the Arnold Arboretum at Harvard University. Prior to these roles, Miles worked as a Botanist at the Bureau of Land Management and as an Organic Farm Manager at the University of New Hampshire.
